PURCHASER’S TERMS
Your guide to buying through us…
VIEWINGS
- Viewings are by appointment only.
- We strongly advise that you take your time to have a thorough look through the boat and its inventory to decide whether she is suitable.
- This is the most fundamental part of the buying process and you are welcome to come back and view the boat as many times as you wish.
DEPOSITS
- Once you have decided that you wish to purchase the boat and a price has been agreed, the next stage is to put down a 10% deposit to secure her.
- The deposit holds the boat for 10 days so that you can go ahead with an independent boat survey/demonstration/engine check by a qualified individual, safe in the knowledge that no one else can purchase her in the meantime.
- This deposit is fully refundable should any of these checks (carried out by a qualified and independent third party) show a fault with the boat.
- If you do not proceed with the purchase for reasons other than a defect with the boat (as found by a qualified and independent third party), your deposit will be refunded less a £250 administration charge (plus VAT).
SURVEYS & DEMONSTRATIONS
- All surveys & demonstrations are carried out only on receipt of a 10% deposit.
- The cost of the survey and/or engine check is payable by the purchaser, as well as any associated lifting/towing charges. Regardless of the outcome of these checks, the cost or returning the boat to its mooring or hardstanding is the responsibility of the purchaser.
- If you wish to have the boat demonstrated in the water this is free of charge up to 1 hour, although cranage charges both ways (if applicable) are payable by the purchaser at the normal Highway Marine rate regardless of the outcome.
PAYMENT
- If you are happy with the boat and wish to proceed, the remaining balance is then due.
- Once full payment for the boat has been made, no refund is possible.
- On receipt of full payment for the boat, she becomes the purchaser’s liability immediately, and should be insured accordingly.
- If you would like to take immediate ownership of the boat, payment needs to be made by either cash, bank transfer or debit card.
- If she is paid for by cheque, it will take 7 working days for the cheque to clear before we can release the boat on the 8th working day.
- Once ownership has been transferred, any further cranage, storage or mooring fees are then payable by the new owner.
